Booking Terms & Conditions
Booking Terms & Conditions
Travel Insurance: It is strongly recommended that passengers be covered by adequate travel insurance for protection against amendment or cancellation costs, travel delay, luggage, rental vehicle insurance excess and accidental death and personal liability. For the purposes of travel insurance Norfolk Island is deemed to be a domestic destination. However please bear in mind your destination is an island, which is subject to aircraft diversion in extreme weather conditions. As airlines do not accept responsibility for flight delays or cancellations due to weather, passengers electing not to take travel insurance do so at their own risk for costs or losses sustained. Please be aware that you are not covered by travel insurance until payment is received at Norfolk Island Travel Centre and your policy is issued.
Passenger Names and Contacts:
It’s important you provide us with your full name as it appears on your Passport or Drivers licence to ensure your ticket matches your ID document.
Travel Documents, Visas and Health: The Department of Immigration and Border Protection advises anyone travelling between Norfolk Island and mainland Australia will be required to identify themselves. Although passports and visas are no longer mandatory for Australian citizens when travelling to Norfolk Island from Australia, a valid passport continues to be the preferred method of identification.
We recommend travelling with a passport if you have one, however technically photographic identification for Australian citizens such as an Australian driver’s licence, will be acceptable. Those without a passport may experience some delays with manual customs checks
Those travelling without a passport should also be aware that in the event of a flight diversion e.g. due to inclement weather preventing the aircraft to land on the island, the flight could be diverted to New Zealand. Those passengers without an Australian or NZ passport will not be permitted to leave the transit area at Auckland airport.
Non-Australian citizens who hold a permanent resident visa are able to travel to Norfolk Island without further visa requirements but must use a passport as your form of identification.
Normal Australian Customs and Immigration procedures will apply when entry is made from outside Australia (including New Zealand). A passport (valid on entry and departure) is necessary and a visa may be required for some foreign passports.
For more information please check the following Border Force link: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Ente/Goin/Arrival/Travel-Documents-for-Entry-to-Australia
Taxes and Levies: Legislation requires collection of taxes and levies controlled by the airline, government or airport authorities. These costs may change without notice at any time up until departure. Full payment of Holiday does not exempt clients from the implementation of additional charges outside of our control. We will offer advice in this regard, but regret we do not control, nor will we be held responsible for any government's taxes, levies and airport charges. Some countries charge departure tax upon departure and some airports charge a small Airport Improvement fee which must be paid direct by clients at that airport.
Cancellations and Amendments: Package prices are based on bulk purchase airfares with Qantas. Package prices advertised are subject to availability at time of booking. A minimum non-refundable deposit of $250 per person is due upon booking to enable us to proceed and commit to Qantas booking terms and conditions and to secure our services as your booking agent. In some cases financial commitments to the airline will be processed within 24 hours of making the reservation. Airfare is subject to availability and non-refundable after issue. Changes can be made up to 48 hours (notification business days only) prior to departure at a change fee of $200 per person plus any applicable upgrade fees, subject to availability. Accommodation cancellation penalties apply within 90 days prior to travel. Within 60 days of travel, up to 100% cancellation fees may apply. We therefore strongly recommend travel insurance which may protect you against some unforeseen cancellations.
NB: Non-refundable deposits are taken on behalf of suppliers as assurance of payment for services we book for you, as well as for the service we have undertaken on your behalf. There are many reasons why people decide to cancel travelling and in all cases deposits remain non-refundable
Important Service Information: Not all properties operate 24-hour check-in facilities, therefore late check-in procedures need to be pre-arranged.
To avoid any inconvenience, please ensure arrival and departure information for all services is advised at the time of booking. Many accommodations and hire car providers will require a Credit card upon check-in, in the event a credit card cannot be provided, full payment of the bond will be required. The amount collected varies for each provider.
Please ensure any special requests including but not limited to Bedding, air-conditioning and room outlook requests have been noted for any applicable services. Whilst our suppliers will endeavour to meet these requests, they cannot be guaranteed. Charges for additional requirements including, but not limited to, infant cots and rollaway beds in accommodation along with insurance excess reductions or infant seat hire for rental vehicles may be applied by the Service Provider and are payable direct.
Attractions, Tours and Transfers operate on local times and are subject to change. Any Tours/transfers incorporating watercraft are subject to weather and sea conditions. Please reconfirm all Tour and transfer services 24 hours prior to travel directly with the Service Provider.
Minimum Numbers Policy: All tours require a minimum number of passengers to operate. If minimum numbers are not achieved tours may be cancelled at short notice. Additionally, some Suppliers reserve the right to cancel departures for other reasons. Some tours and itineraries may also vary and attractions may be substituted due to seasonal conditions. Norfolk Island Travel Centre hold no liability for a service provider’s variation, cancellation, delay or withdrawal or a Supplier's failure to notify you.
Fitness to Travel: A reasonable level of fitness is required for some activities provided in Norfolk Island Travel Centre packages, including embarking and disembarking of aircraft, which may be by stairs on the tarmac. Other examples include (not limited to) embarking and disembarking coaches, vehicles, boats, jetty or beaches. It is your responsibility to advise any mobility constraints at time of booking.

Air travel is subject to the conditions and limitations of liability set out in the Airline's conditions of carriage please refer to the applicable Airline website for further details.
Baggage: Please check baggage allowances applied by airlines, cruise companies and coach operators prior to travel. Baggage allowances vary depending on the airline, supplier and destination.
